Digital receipts for Lightspeed Retail X-Series

Add tap-to-email receipts to any Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) register. TapReceipt reads each completed sale from Lightspeed, and your customer collects it by tapping their phone on a card at the counter.

How it works with Lightspeed

You connect Lightspeed to TapReceipt with your normal Lightspeed login. Nothing is installed on the till and staff keep ringing up sales exactly as they do now.

When a sale is completed, Lightspeed tells TapReceipt about it within a few seconds: the items, totals, payment type, and which register and outlet it was rung through on.

The customer taps their phone on the TapReceipt NFC card next to that register. Their phone opens the receipt. The first time they type their email; from then on it is sent automatically whenever they tap.

Setting up

1

Create your account

Free, takes about a minute. No card details.

2

Connect Lightspeed

Integrations tab → Connect Lightspeed → log in and approve. Your outlets and registers appear in the Tills tab automatically; give them names your staff recognise.

3

Receive your NFC cards

We post one branded card and stand per register, free, with free postage. Nothing to configure — each card is already linked to its register.

4

Place them by the card readers

Customers see the card at the moment they are putting their phone away. From then on it just works.

What your customer sees

After paying, the customer holds their phone to the card. The phone opens a page showing your logo, the itemised receipt, the total and how it was paid, with your address, VAT number and company number underneath. Below that is an email box, a ticked “Save my email to this device” option and an optional “Send me offers” tick. They press one button and the receipt is in their inbox. If they leave the save option ticked, every future tap at any TapReceipt shop sends the receipt automatically with nothing to type. See an example of the screen and the email.

What it costs

Creating an account is free and so is the NFC card and stand for each till, including postage. You pay 2p per receipt that is actually emailed, with a £10 minimum in any month you send receipts; a month with none costs nothing. The first 100 stores to join get their first three months free, starting the day their card arrives. Full pricing and worked examples.

Questions

Do I need to change how I take payments?

No. TapReceipt reads completed sales from Lightspeed. Your card machine, tills and workflow stay the same.

Which Lightspeed plan do I need?

One that lets third-party apps connect. As far as we have seen, Core does not, Plus and above do. Contact us before signing up if you want us to check.

We have several shops on one Lightspeed account. Does that work?

Yes. Every register across every outlet can have its own card, and your dashboard lets you filter sales and tap rates by store or till.

Do I need a card for every register?

One card per register you want customers to tap at. They are free, including postage.
